I’ve been waiting weeks for this, and I don’t even have TV. In the SNL clip at left, Tina Fey becomes more “hockey mom as VP” than the person she’s parodying. Which I have to say (no discredit meant to Tina) isn’t hard, because McCain’s VP pick comes across to me like the chardonnay-fueled homebuilder’s wife that tries to cut you off at the supermarket because she’s in such a hurry to get her box-o-wine. Also pretty funny from the last few days is this clip with Matt Damon calmly expressing with a little wry humor the absurdity of the GOP’s pick for VP. As Matt points out, “…you do the actuary tables, and there’s a one outa three chance, if not more, that McCain doesn’t survive his first term…”, and compares the “hockey mom as VP” idea to “…a really bad Disney movie…”.
