Happy Birthday, George

Dick Cheney’s favorite sock puppet, George W. Bush, was apparently drowned out by hecklers as he spoke at the swearing-in of 72 new citizens at Monticello on July 4. The LA Times on line has a nice summary here, with videos of both the hecklers in the crowd and a more conventional view of bush speaking at the podium. Poor George. And right before his birthday too. Always quick on his feet, Bush ironically reminded the crowd that America believes in free speech while the Secret Service and security clamped down on the hecklers.
