Faces of Evil? Where’s the Bush-Cheney Edition?

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008Or maybe an evil corporate leader version?
Hans Weishäupl’s artistic project and exhibit Faces of Evil explores a concept well-summarized by Einstein’s oft-quoted statement that “The world is not threatened by evil people but by those who allow evil things to happen”. Weishäupl created uncanny images of several dictators by taking photographs of over 350 people from each dictator’s homeland, and creating a composite image using various software tools. The results are a thought-provoking reminder that we are usually, like it or not, equally responsible for the actions of our more evil leaders. Hey Hans, if you’re reading, I’m sure I speak for many when I say I’m looking forward to the Bush/Cheney edition!
Oliver Stone’s “W” Trailer “Leaked”?

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008Well, it seems to be a pretty big leak…
RawStory.com suggests the trailer for Oliver Stone’s upcoming biopic about George Bush was “leaked” Sunday. Looks to me like a standard teaser, but here it is, in any case: “A heartwarming romantic comedy about an adorable alcoholic with a dream — and the courage to pursue it.”
Bush Administration Says “Pardon Me?”

Sunday, July 27th, 2008And Bush says: “Okey-Dokey!”
Well George, it’s time to buy a new set of pens. You’ll be going through a lot of ink as you sign the blanket pardons for your felonious staff of the past several years. Although Slate has an excellent round up of the offenders available, so far the attempts at citizen’s arrests aren’t going so well. Although Bill Clinton (probably with merit) catches a lot of the flack for his pardons as he left office, both Reagan and Bush senior used up a fair amount of ink on their pardon power as well. They had that little Iran-Contra thing to clean up, after all. According to most sources you’ll review, Jimmy Carter was probably the last president (except for Ford’s pardon of Nixon) to use the power of pardon in a generally ethical way.
George Bush on the Economy: “Wall Street Got Drunk”
[ Comments Off ]Posted on July 23, 2008 by admin in Politics
Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008Off the record, the president shares his latest economic theories.
Well, if that isn’t the proverbial pot calling the kettle black. If you watch this exclusive clip (he thought all cameras were off) you’ll get to hear Bush joking not only about Wall Street getting drunk, but also joking about how rough it’s been for him being on government pay for 14 years. Gee George, if only all the rest of us had to suffer a $400,000.00 yearly salary, free luxury housing, private air and ground transport, and full time security teams, as well as access to virtually anything else we want in the world, we could join you for a chuckle. To see some excellent clips of George himself being drunk, check out this YouTube compilation. Or this one to see where it all began. My suggestion for the new 2008 GOP slogan: “Ish thuh ick-onomy, shtoopid….”
McCain = Bush = Court Date

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008Strong-arming 61-year-old librarians is not going to win the election, Mr. McCain.
You would think an old geezer like John McCain would be more sensitive to the needs of old ladies. Needs which don’t include being strong-armed by security for expressing your thoughts (link includes footage as well as story content). Carol Kreck, a 61-year-old librarian from Denver, was waiting in line to attend a McCain “town hall” meeting. At the behest of McCain’s security people, she was cited for trespassing and escorted away because she was carrying a sign that read “McCain = Bush”. She logically pointed out that if you’re a Republican who voted for Bush, why should you be offended by the sign? Kreck was told “You have two choices. You can keep your sign here and receive a ticket for trespassing, or you can remove the sign and stay in line and attend this town hall meeting.”. To her credit she accepted the ticket and a court date.
