Hans Weishäupl’s artistic project and exhibit Faces of Evil explores a concept well-summarized by Einstein’s oft-quoted statement that “The world is not threatened by evil people but by those who allow evil things to happen”. Weishäupl created uncanny images of several dictators by taking photographs of over 350 people from each dictator’s homeland, and creating a composite image using various software tools. The results are a thought-provoking reminder that we are usually, like it or not, equally responsible for the actions of our more evil leaders.
