And I Thought They Shopped At KKKMart

KKK KidEver wonder where the KKK gets their stylish apparel? Mother Jones has an insightful piece that focuses on 58-year-old “Ms. Ruth” who works seven days a week making KKK robes, blessing each one (I’d love to hear THAT prayer). The Audio/Photo Essay was assembled by New York photojournalist Anthony Karen, a former Marine who spent several years photographing members of the KKK. When Ms. Ruth isn’t busy making robes, she says she’s taking care of her animals, including her “chickens, puppy dogs, and sugar glider“, or teaching her granddaughter how to take over the business. It’s strange to see and hear someone with such an offensive view on humanity talking so casually about their life. On that note, I must confessed that until today I’d never visited KKK.com, where they inform you right away that they’re “Bringing a Message of Hope and Deliverance to White Christian America! A Message of Love NOT Hate!” and that “Our Entire Group of Sites are Family and Christian Friendly”. Weird.
